Process optimization for galvanizing company in Groningen
Nedcoat (today Coatinc) was a galvanizing company in Groningen. In 2008 it moved to a new location with a complete new factory where they used new innovative machines and technologies.
Coordinating and matching the business processes, knowledge and skills of the employees to new business operations required clear insights in the functioning of production. This also included registering all failures and disruptions and their root causes. With this insight they wanted to reduce or even prevent future downtime.
By connecting ProMISe to all process computers (PLCs) Nedcoat got clear insight in all failures and disruptions (or downtime). Alarms came in during downtime and it was automatically registered in ProMISe. All failures that did not come in via the PLCs were registered manually. Then as much information as possible was noted, like possible root cause. Combined with an efficient daily meeting, directed by the different ProMISe modules, like logbook and action lists, a large improvement was realised with daily operations and a higher knowledge level. This resulted in a higher delivering reliability and quality.
